رویدادهای مؤثر و مسائل مهم داخلی جمهوری اسلامی ایران در حوزه‌های سیاسی، اقتصادی، جغرافیایی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی از حوزه‌های اساسی مورد توجه پژوهشکده مطالعات راهبردی است. در بیش از دو دهه از تأسیس پژوهشکده تا کنون، بسیاری از کتابهای تألیفی و ترجمه، مقالات وگزارشهای راهبردی در این حوزه تولید شده است. محصولات یادشده در بسیاری از موارد، نقش پیشگام و جریانساز داشته و توانسته مسائل مهم و راهبردی را در حوزه‌های مختلف شناسایی، بررسی و تبیین نماید. مهمترین حوزههایی که در حال حاضر این گروه بر آنها متمرکز شده است، عبارتند از:
